ILTC teachers use the Communicative Approach, which enables balanced development of the four language skills: speaking, writing, reading and listening.
The Communicative Approach is a method that aims at the development of speaking through communication, emphasizing the knowledge and skills that are necessary in real life. Role-playing true –to-life situations at classes helps consolidate the acquired knowledge and gain positive experience in using a foreign language.
One of the peculiarities of the Communicative Teaching Method is that teachers don’t use their students’ native language in the process of teaching. Consequently, the students have to use the language they are studying from the very first classes.
As a result:
- You really start to speak a foreign language after your first class
- You forget about the fact that “the language barrier” exists
- You get practical knowledge you need in real life and it is reinforced by a solid theoretical basis
- You acquire excellent speaking, reading and writing skills
- You not only know grammar terminology and rules, but also get an insight into when and how to use your knowledge most effectively
- You feel comfortable and confident when speaking a foreign language
